As part of its Be Well Do Well sustainability strategy, Aramark works to care for the planet and thus make progress in reducing emissions. Thus, together with Cabify, they were able to compensate for more than 345 thousand kilometers traveled by their collaborators during their trips with the transport company in 2023.
In total, all trips operated by Aramark added approximately 50 tons of CO2, which was offset by Cabify and its sustainable corporate transportation service. Every year the mobility company compensates and delivers certificates for all trips made through its services in renewable energy projects in each of the countries in which it is present.
The project selected during 2023 is the Los Cororos Wind Farm, located in the province of Limare, in the Coquimbo region, and its goal is to generate renewable energy through its 57 wind turbines. This has greatly contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gases and the sustainable development of the region.
One of the pillars of Aramark’s global sustainability strategy, called Be Well Do Well, is caring for the planet, addressing topics such as reducing food waste, incorporating circularity and operating efficiently. “We are constantly looking for new initiatives and allies that will allow us to advance the field of sustainability and make tangible contributions to reducing the environmental impact of our operations,” said Bernardita Varas, Director of Communications and Sustainability at Aramark.
For its part, Cabify, a carbon neutral company since 2018, is responsible for providing sustainable transportation services to people and companies. “This relationship with Aramark fills us with pride and comfort because we are companies that are increasingly moving by the same principles: caring for people and the planet and making cities better places to live. Sustainable mobility is a reality that all companies can join,” adds Fernando Mathe, Director of Cabify for Business, a corporate transportation service offered by Cabify. “We are here now, and we hope to continue adding more companies to this journey.”
In Chile, the North American services company has implemented various initiatives that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with the aim of making progress in confronting the challenges posed by climate change. The electricity supply for its factory in the Alps comes 100% from renewable sources, which equates to around 500 TCO2EQ/MWH avoided in one year. In one year, Aramark, in collaboration with its customers, was able to send 437,970 kilograms of organic waste to industrial composting fields, avoiding the emission of 282.7 tons of CO2 equivalent into the environment.
