Jennifer Rumsey, CEO of Cummins, summarized some of the progress the company has made in 2023, looking at the challenges it faces to contribute to decarbonisation and industry sustainability.
In a meeting with leaders and employees from around the world, Ramzi said:
“With so much to celebrate this year, it is difficult to fully capture the accomplishments of our employees. “I continue to be inspired by their impact: serving our customers and communities while keeping our values at the forefront.”
Cummins CEO highlighted the company’s strategy to achieve its product decarbonization goals: Destination Zero.
One of the key actions of this strategy is the development of internal combustion engine (ICE) technologies, as an important transitional step for the road transport industry.
Cummins ICE technologies focus on advanced diesel, gas and hydrogen, which will provide clean, cost-effective energy to customers for years to come and help Cummins achieve the interim goal of reducing emissions by 25% in new products sold by 2030.
The new Accelera by Cummins brand offers a diverse range of zero-emission solutions to many of the world’s largest industries, enabling customers to accelerate their transition to a sustainable future.
Ramsey also highlighted Cummins’ environmental sustainability strategy, “Planet 2050.”
Planet 2050 contains goals for products, facilities and communities to be achieved in 2030 and aspirations in 2050.
Cummins advances the challenges of decarbonization and sustainability
In the in-person and virtual meeting, Ramsey said Cummins continues to serve communities and expand its reach.
“We are closing in on our goal of having 75% of employees worldwide participating in the Every Employee Every Community program, which allows and encourages our employees to volunteer a minimum of four hours in local communities.”
Creating inclusive and equitable environments where all employees thrive is one of my key areas of focus as CEO,” he added.
––We’ve made progress in this area through the Cummins Café program, where we reached more than 38,000 employees and participated in an employee experience survey.
Additionally, we are on track to graduate nearly 4,000 leaders worldwide through Building Success in You, a Cummins leadership development course.
“I am so grateful to work alongside you and look forward to the impact we will have together in 2024,” Jennifer Rumsey concluded.
