Grupo Potencial has started operating its flexible truck powered by biodiesel fuel

The Scania model has been modified in partnership with the automaker. The investment exceeds R$ 26 million.

São Paulo – Grupo Potencial has put its R$26.4 million project into operation by putting its first biodiesel truck on the streets, ensuring a 95% reduction in CO2 emissions. On December 28, the keel departed from the port of Paranagua bound for the company’s biodiesel plant in Lapa, both in Paraná.

It is a Scania truck produced in 2019 and adapted to run on biofuel, in partnership with the car manufacturer. According to Grupo Potencial, the cost of transportation is approximately R$20,000.

The company now intends to adapt 24 more trucks so they can run on regular diesel and biodiesel, in partnership with other manufacturers. The idea is that the entire fleet, consisting of 150 trucks, will be flexible.
