Hydro ethanol prices were traded spot on in the state Sao Paulo Start the year on the decline.
From January 2 to 5, the Cepea/Esalq index averaged R$1.8741/L (net of ICMS and Pis/Cofins), a decrease of 1.38% compared to the previous week; For anhydrous, the Cepea/Esalq index registered a small positive variation of 0.8% in the same period, at R$2.1262/L (net PIS/Cofins).
According to researchers from SepiaEven in a scenario of increased demand for hydrous ethanol – where some distributors needed to replenish stocks of products sold between Christmas and New Year – business was done at lower prices.
Other buyers supply themselves with the purchased product through contracts, without having to act immediately. The pressure also comes from the large supply of hydrate present in the reservoirs.
