Mercedes G-Class Electric, Mad Max Next, Cheap Mustang Speed: The Week in Reverse

We drove the electric 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class, highlighted the “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” car video, and featured an 810-horsepower Ford Mustang for just $49,995. It’s Reverse Week, here at Motor Authority.

We drove the electric version of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class and learned that it proves that any vehicle can go electric. With a rotating party trick, four electric motors, and every bit of luxury offered by the gas-powered model, the electric G-Class loses nothing and gains more polish.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class 2027 was tested on public roads. The facelifted luxury SUV appears to be in for a major update that includes a new steering wheel design, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and revised front and rear bumpers.

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” hits theaters May 24, and a new video offers a look at the vehicles that will light up the big screen. Car stars will include a big rig based on the Kenworth W900, a wagon made from motorcycles, a Plymouth Valiant, and a VW Beetle combined with a motorcycle.

The Bentley Continental GT’s upcoming hybrid powertrain will feature a 771-hp V-8. This will be the first model in the automaker’s lineup to get the new hybrid powertrain, which will replace the moribund W-12 engine.

Ford Motor Company, a dealership near Dayton, Ohio, is back in the news with an 810-hp, 2024 Ford Mustang ready for $49,995. To achieve that power, the dealership beefed up the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V-8 with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharged engine, a 92-mm throttle body, fuel injectors borrowed from the last-generation GT500, and a high-flow air intake and filters. That’s some cheap speed.
