The pilot roadmap will be created through a planning study that evaluates operational factors such as appropriate routes based on current operations, payload considerations, technical support, data exchange and shipping operations. The goal of the pilot is for DTI to evaluate the performance of Range’s electric-powered trailers as well as analyze key metrics, such as trailer availability and fuel economy, and produce a report that evaluates the long-term rollout strategy of an electric-powered trailer model across the globe. DTI’s fleet includes more than 2,600 trailers.

“The continued adoption of electric equipment in today’s commercial trucking operations represents a pivotal moment in our journey towards sustainable transportation solutions industry-wide,” said Ali Javidan, CEO and Founder of Range. “By deploying our innovative solution into Dot Foods fleets, we aim to showcase efficiency and reliability.” “And the environmental benefits of the refrigerated version of our electric-powered trailer. Together, we are poised to redefine the future of food redistribution logistics, and drive toward cleaner, safer heavy haul operations.”

“As the largest food industry distributor in North America, Dot Foods and Dot Transportation are committed to pioneering innovative solutions that advance both efficiency and environmental stewardship,” said Jeff Barry, Dot’s director of innovation. “Our partnership with Range Energy underscores our dedication to leveraging innovative technologies to make a positive difference to commercial trucking operations in operating the best fleet in the industry.
