Rating of the 5 fastest electric motorcycles in 2024

We start our list with the Italian Volt Lacama, which comes with two battery options. There’s the lighter ‘Hyperlight’ battery, which offers a top speed of just 105 mph, but there’s the more powerful ‘Hyperpower’ battery, which goes up to 230 km/h or 143 mph. It’s quite the fast and stylish car. Since we’re looking at the fastest motorcycles, this entry will focus solely on the Hyperpower battery option.

If you are a solo rider, the Lacama Monoposto is for you, as it only has one passenger seat. However, if you want to share the experience with a friend, there is the Biposto – a two-seater model. The extra weight of the rear seat will affect the bike’s acceleration, which ranges from 0 to 60 in four seconds, because more force is needed to move additional mass, and aerodynamic drag will have a big impact. Along with a top speed of 143 mph, the Hyperpower battery also produces 169 ft/lbs of torque with a range of up to 160 miles. The regenerative braking system offers four adjustable levels ranging from zero to three, determining how much kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy.

Speaking of adjustable levels, Lacama allows drivers to choose one of four different riding modes, not too dissimilar to the Kawasaki e-1 motorcycle, with each offering a different riding experience based on rider preferences and road conditions. It was rated “Rocket!” “Sport”, “Eco” and “Wet”. For the best acceleration, riders want to use the “Rocket!” session.
