Recommendations of the Municipal Health Directorate in the face of high temperatures

The Municipal Health Directorate of Chacabuco informs the community that due to high temperatures forecast for January and February, preventive measures must be implemented to take care of our bodies, with special emphasis on young children, the elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases.

Therefore, when the thermometer exceeds 30 degrees, the municipal district recommended implementing the following indicators:

1- Eat fresh fruits and vegetables; Ensure that food does not lose the cold chain.
2- Avoid exposing yourself to direct sunlight between 10:00 and 16:00, use sunscreen with a factor greater than 50 and wear light, light clothing.
3- Drink water frequently to maintain hydration, even if you do not feel thirsty, and avoid alcoholic or sugary drinks.
4- Keep your home well ventilated.
5- Do not leave young children alone in vehicles or closed places.
6- Ensure that elderly people do not engage in intense physical activities.

Finally, it is recommended to consult a doctor in case of severe symptoms such as headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and/or fever over 38 degrees.
