The SEAL U DM-i provides an efficient, practical and accessible solution for your daily mobility needs and worry-free long trips. Super DM (Dual Mode) technology prioritizes electric power with minimal dependence on fuel, making it environmentally friendly, with greater energy efficiency and lower fuel consumption, driving performance and comfort. The D-Class family SUV will be available this summer for environmentally conscious European customers.
Super DM represents an evolution in smart PHEV technology. Developed exclusively by BYD, it offers many advantages, including energy efficiency, low fuel consumption, driving performance and comfort. For the SEAL U DM-i, the “I” stands for intelligence, embodying the principles of intelligent and energy-efficient driving.
BYD Super DM technology prioritizes electric power with minimal dependency on fuel, making it environmentally friendly, with greater energy efficiency and lower fuel consumption. When the battery is fully charged and switched to EV mode, the vehicle becomes fully electric, and when the state of charge (SOC) is low, it converts to a hybrid vehicle with very low fuel consumption alleviating concerns about electric range. Delivering a quiet, comfortable ride, exhilarating high-powered performance and responsiveness, this innovative hybrid system redefines the driving experience.
The BYD DM-i plug-in super hybrid chassis prioritizes ultra-low fuel consumption, a quiet and smooth driving experience and excellent power output. The car can achieve an attractive fuel economy of just 313.8 mpg in Boost trim and 235.4 mpg in WLTP (Weighted Combined) trim. The combined electrical consumption of the Boost model is 21 kWh/km and in the design 23.5 kWh/km. Electricity consumption during city driving in the Boost model is 14.5 kWh/100 km and in design 16.1 kWh/100 km.
The all-wheel drive design version has an all-electric driving range of 43 miles (WLTP) ensuring a range of 540 miles (WLTP). The front-wheel-drive Boost version offers a pure electric range of 50 miles, ensuring a total range of 671 miles (WLTP).
Like all BYD passenger cars available in Europe, the BYD SEAL U DM-i is equipped as standard with BYD’s unique cobalt-free Blade battery technology, developed in-house with the primary aim of improving safety, durability, longevity, performance and quality. Utilization of space. The battery pack consists of many thin, elongated, blade-like cells and uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) as the cathode material to increase safety, durability and thermal stability. All equipped versions of the BYD SEAL U DM-i offer 11-kilowatt three-phase AC charging and 18-kilowatt DC charging with 11 kilowatts of AC power. However, DC charging time (30-80 percent) is only 35 minutes.
