A Sustainably Managed Company evaluates each company’s impact management through evidence, commitments and results.
In recent years, sustainability has played a critical role in the way organizations operate, develop and plan for the future to achieve financial profitability and environmental and social value. In a global context where environmental awareness is becoming more important for society, Peru has set targets for 2030 in environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects, which require clear cooperation between civil society, academia, public and private sectors.
Companies today seek to implement more sustainable strategic models to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment. For this reason, Sustainable Peru, a non-profit organization working to promote sustainability in the country, promotes: The Sustainably Managed Enterprise (EGS), a management tool that evaluates through evidence, commitments and results those companies that responsibly manage their impacts. Through different types of requirements, which include: indicators, programs and policies, compatible with international sustainability standards and frameworks.
Reasons for obtaining the company’s distinction for sustainable management:
- Continuous improvement: Sustainability allows us to identify the most relevant environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, setting key goals, indicators and targets that allow us to measure the progress of the company’s management and thus ensure continuous improvement year after year.
- reputation: EGS is a symbol of pride for those organizations able to act to mitigate their risks and build a better future.
- results: The results of adequate ESG management are evident not only in operational efficiency, but also in financial terms, which allows access to new opportunities, such as entering markets with more demanding consumers or even accessing other sources of financing.
