tgs, a Transportadora de Gas del Sur and one of the country’s major natural gas carriers, won the Blue Eikon Award for “Leadership in Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting” status in the Financial Communications or Investor Communications category.

The company has innovated by submitting its first sustainability report under the principle of ESG, which can be translated as “environmental, social and corporate governance.”

This report aims to make the process of information collection and subsequent accountability transparent. It aims to collect all management indicators for the year 2022, provide a report on the actions, programs and financial and non-financial results of its management, and is consistent with the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).

The report is prepared based on the priorities of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with the principles established by the United Nations, and is presented very close to the date of the financial indicators (report and balance sheet) of the company.

They point out from TGS that through this report they can communicate in detail about their work in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance. At the same time, they note that they feel a growing demand from stakeholders, especially financial ones, for actions that effectively address the environmental and social impact of organizations.

The report was sent to more than 500 people via email, and among the results of this initiative it is worth noting that the LinkedIn posts received 1,600 interactions and were subsequently presented at an internal virtual event to more than 600 collaborators.

The jury emphasized that the campaign consists of an excellent multimedia presentation that complements the report presented to investors with information of increasing importance for business development globally.

“It is a source of pride to receive this award among so many major companies in Argentina,” says Mario Janiskowski, Director of Corporate Relations at TGS.

The director adds: “It is a double award for us, because to receive this recognition for our ESG report means a lot for a company in the oil and gas sector that is leading the way for many other companies, because we are pioneers in reporting in the field of environmental, social and governance.” Social Governance and Corporate Governance.”

As communicators, I believe they have an essential role within the company to raise awareness and awareness of the importance of creating a company that grows “but in a sustainable way,” emphasizes Janiskowski.
