The Unagi electric scooter has cut my commute time in half

After reviewing the best electric scooters on the market, I will talk about how good this scooter rides. I’ve found it to be the best overall for many reasons: speed, distance, safety and style.

Think of the Unagi as the Tesla among scooters. Manufactured using the same carbon fiber found in Elon Musk’s SpaceX rockets, its sleek design embodies a combination of strength and lightweight portability.

On average, many competing scooters weigh up to 50 pounds, making it more difficult to lift but not this one! The scooter’s stem narrows as it extends toward the magnesium alloy handlebar, allowing me to lift it with one hand without slipping.

I can guarantee her comfort; I live in a five-story building, walk around several times a day without any hassle, and it weighs only 29.6 pounds.

The throttle brake lever makes avoiding obstacles a breeze, requiring only the touch of a thumb compared to the bulky handlebar brakes other scooters offer. With a foot brake at the rear, stopping is intuitive and smooth.

Its one-click system locks securely in place, making folding and unfolding a breeze.

I invested in a Model One Classic in 2020 and loved every last minute, but as soon as I took the Model One Voyager for a spin, with twice the mileage and a faster two-hour charge speed, I had to upgrade the stats. It was too good to be true and helped me navigate through the city without running out of battery life.

The handlebar has no wires or visible mass, which is amazing considering it has a digital instrument panel, LED headlight, throttle, and brake system.

Unagi offers an All-Access membership for those who aren’t sure about the commitment, offering rental options, wraparound care, and even a White Glove Love service for hassle-free delivery to major U.S. cities. But once you experience the comfort and performance of this amazing ride, you’ll never want to own it again, trust me.

to set: Dimensions before folding: 37.80″(L) x 16.54″W x 43.31″H | Folded Dimensions: 37.80″(L) x 16.54″W x 14.96″H | Wheel: 7.5″(diameter) / 1.6″(width) | Weight: 29.6 pounds | Maximum speed: 20 mph | Range: 12-25 miles | Charging time: 0-100% (3 hours) / 0-80% (2 hours) / 0-50% (1 hour)

As an experienced rider on the streets of Manhattan, this makes me feel more comfortable because it glides effortlessly to a stop, and in New York, that’s what makes the difference between life and death.

The solid Unagi rubber tires mean you won’t have to worry about flats, although the ride may feel a little smoother when hitting potholes in the air-filled ones. But with each wheel featuring a 250-watt motor (500 watts average, peaks at over 1,000 watts), they have the power needed for smooth driving and climbing hills without slowing down.

The scooter can travel at speeds of up to 20 mph, charges in two to three hours (faster than most cars), and has a maximum range of 25 miles. However, it depends on many variables. I prefer to use the dual motors at level 3 (their top speed) but note that your range will drop to 13-16 miles, which is still quite far for a scooter.

To comply with local regulations, the scooter will travel at 15 mph unless you unlock the 20 mph feature. To activate, press and hold both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time. Then press the power button ten times. You will hear a beep once it opens. Sometimes, you may need to repeat this process 2-3 times before it can be activated successfully.

Pairing with the Unagi mobile app eliminates range anxiety. Provides detailed calculations based on weight, distance, terrain and battery life.

Basically, the Unagi meets all my scooter needs effortlessly, from its compact dimensions before and after folding to its incredible speed and range. It’s a trip I would gladly recommend to anyone as my top pick.
