Ride-hailing app Uber is offering drivers the chance to take advantage of a new £5,000 grant to help people access electric cars.
Drivers will be able to benefit from part of a £145 million fund for their London drivers to make the industry greener.
Uber is offering a £5,000 grant to purchase a new electric car, plus additional grants of up to £17,000.
London already has the highest number of electric Uber cars, with 25 per cent of ride miles in the capital now fully electric.

The San Francisco-based company called for more incentives for drivers to achieve its goal of having their cars fully electric in London by the end of 2025.
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday 21 May, the incentive package will be offered to its drivers in London through Uber’s Clean Air Plan.
This will include an initial grant of £5,000 and additional discounts of between £12,000 and £17,000 available on selected models.
Drivers can benefit from a discount of up to £22,000 on the price of a new electric vehicle when combined with the Power-Up grant.
Commenting on the new grants, Andrew Brehm, Uber’s UK general manager, said: “It is time to accelerate electrification, not slow down.
“We cannot reach our collective zero emissions goals without continued action by policymakers and investment across the industry.
“Uber drivers can be a catalyst for accelerating the electrification process across the transportation sector, but collaboration will be crucial to combating air pollution and working toward a more sustainable future.”
All electric vehicle drivers will also be eligible for up to three months of free charging credits worth £750 thanks to an exclusive charging rate through BP Pulse.
According to Zapmap data, there are nearly 20,000 electric vehicle chargers across the capital – more than twice the number of chargers in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales combined.
Drivers can spend their grant money as a lump sum on the purchase of a new electric vehicle, or on a lease or hire-to-buy deal, which would see drivers make weekly payments.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “I am determined to achieve my mission of making London a zero-emissions city by 2030, and electrifying our buses and cars is key to achieving this.
“I welcome this initiative which will give drivers who need it a helping hand to switch their petrol or diesel car for an electric one.
